The SWS Reggio-inspired program is a project-based approach to education which enables children to influence the direction of their learning. Using the project approach, we delve deeper into long-term learning experiences while aligning with the Common Core State Standards.
SWS met or exceeded four of our five goals set by the Chancellor for the 2014-15 school year — including exceeding our reading comprehension goal by 9% and demonstrating that 91% of our elementary students are on or above grade level in reading.
Parent participation is considered essential and takes many forms. Parents play an active role in their children’s learning experience and bring important ideas and skills to the school.
The atelier is a place where children deeply explore their ideas and theories through visual arts, movement, music, and science. Our two atelieristas lead small-group workshops that integrate with classroom subjects and projects.
