Michiko Marron, PK-3 teacher

Michiko Marron-Kibbey

“The thing I love most about teaching/working at SWS is the community! I love coming to work everyday because of the people I encounter and the experiences we share everyday.

The thing I am most proud of is the relationships that I build with my students and families.

In my free time I enjoys spending time with my dog, Puffin, and my husband. We like to cook, watch movies, and explore new things in DC. I also enjoy reading and trying new baking recipes.

I see myself as a collaborator in a child’s learning.  I believe that children should be able to guide their own learning and explore the world in their own ways. I love being able to support explorations and experience the world with them.

I love teaching children because they approach the world with such an open mind. Every moment is new and exciting and it’s a joy to be a part of their lives.  I find teaching challenging in the best ways and find that I’m able to connect and build meaningful relationships with my students everyday.”
