“The thing I love most about teaching/working at SWS is … spending each day learning from my students! SWS has always been my favorite school to support because of the kind and thoughtful staff. Children here are viewed as capable learners who can achieve anything.
The thing I am most proud of is … the growth of my students. I’ve been lucky to work with all types of learners over the years. Each student taught me something different about the learning process and how to support individual growth. I love identifying goals with my students and watching them as they build their skills and strategies to meet their full potential.
I make teaching fun by … incorporating student interest in everything that we do. I believe that we can motivate students to engage in their community and to participate in the learning process by providing ample opportunity for students to enjoy topics and activities that interest them.
A visitor in my classroom would see … children developing strategies to learn and be part of a community. Students would be observed working closely together, collaborating with peers and supporting one another to meet individual goals.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, gardening, spending time with my pets and listening to live music.”
