Polite Piggy’s Before & After Care at SWS

Polite Piggy’s is the before and after care provider at SWS. VanNessa Duckett, founder and director of Polite Piggy’s and a teacher at Maury Elementary, is committed to bringing SWS families high quality, comprehensive and rich programming. Since 2007, Polite Piggy’s staff have worked hard to provide for the needs of children and our families, nurture the spirit of each and every child, have really authentic relationships in our school communities and we have been immensely committed to working together to ‘get things right’.

> Polite Piggy’s fees families may be eligible for the sliding scale fee and all families are eligible for sibling discounts. Drop-in service will be available.

Before school programming runs between 7:15 and 8:40 am. Afterschool programming runs between 3:15 pm and 6:00 pm.

Polite Piggy’s runs camp days on almost all of the days DCPS is closed except federal holidays and Emancipation Day. Camp days are held at Maury Elementary School and are open to all.

The general structure of each day is: pick up, bathroom break, a healthy snack, special class four days per week, plenty of outdoor time, afternoon meeting and read aloud with a social/emotional focus each day.
