The thing I am most proud of is…. students coming to me wanting to share their ideas.

In my free time I enjoy… cooking, exploring delicious restaurants around the city, travel, nature, gardening, camping, and going to see live music with my husband whenever I can!

A visitor to my class expect to see … a lot of hands on work that students engage in together, record, and then take time to discuss. No matter what we are doing, we are sharing ideas as we wonder about the world!

I am passionate about teaching children because … I believe that growing up I had some of the best teachers in the business! They guided me through learning about so many things that I still find fascinating today. Knowing that I may be sparking something similar for someone else, is really thrilling.”

Before coming to SWS, Ms. Bartlett taught at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, NY, and at Capitol Hill Day School. She graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from Wittenberg University in Ohio, and received a Master’s degree in elementary education from Bank Street College of Education in New York. Ms. Bartlett grew up in Capitol Hill and is glad to be back home, fulfilling a yearning to teach in a public school setting.
